Dog of the week: Saki

Saki is a playful three-month-old Siberian husky pup eagerly searching for his forever family.

An arctic breed, Saki comes with unique personality traits and quirks that make him the perfect pup for an active family. An owner who understands the needs of the breed and has maybe had huskies before would be perfect to help guide him as he grows up.

Saki would love to be included as part of the family, spending quality time together at home as well as joining his family for daily walks and adventures when he’s fully vaccinated.

As he is still young, Saki would thrive in a home with owners who can set aside some time each day to work with him on his tricks and commands. This makes for excellent bonding and is a great way to spend some quality time together.

Saki gets along well with children, however his ideal human siblings would be more than six years old and confident around larger breeds as Saki will grow up quickly – and, as anyone who’s owned huskies knows, they can be a little boisterous at times!

A home that has secure fencing is also a must for Saki to ensure he is safe and happy. He also doesn’t mind being left alone occasionally – as long as he has some toys, treats, water and a comfy spot to rest he’ll be content until your return.

His own crate that he can make his safe space would go down a treat as there’s nothing puppies love more than a comfy spot they can recuperate in before their next big play session!

Saki is a social pup who gets along well with other dogs who share his friendly demeanour. If you already have a furry friend, make sure to arrange a meet-up before adopting.

To ensure he stays looking as handsome as ever, it’s also essential that Saki’s new family understands his grooming needs, as his gorgeous coat will require regular seasonal grooming to help keep him looking and feeling his best!

Cat of the week: Pipsqueek

Pipsqueek is a beautiful one-year-old black cat with a heart full of love just waiting to be unlocked.

Black cats like Pipsqueek are often considered symbols of luck and mystery, but what makes them truly special is their loyal, loving nature.

Pipsqueek embodies all that’s wonderful about black cats — she’s sweet, gentle, and ready to form a deep bond with her new family.

Though she may be shy at first, Pipsqueek is simply waiting for the right person to show her the love and patience she so truly deserves. Once she feels safe, her loving personality will start to shine through.

Pipsqueek would be the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a quieter, more peaceful cat that enjoys cozying up and relaxing in a calmer environment.

Because she can be a bit timid, Pipsqueek would do best in a home without young children, where she can find her confidence and adjust to her new surroundings at her own pace.

Whilst she may not be the boldest cat, Pipsqueek’s heart is filled with love and she has been incredibly brave since coming into the shelter through no fault of her own.

If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet soul to complete your family, Pipsqueek is the one! With her big, beautiful eyes and sweet demeanour, it’s impossible not to fall in love.

Give her the peaceful home she deserves, and she’ll repay you with quiet, gentle love.

Last week’s Pets of the Week, George and Gypsy, are still looking for their new homes. Previous Pets of the Week, sassy pony Rufus and cats Chicken and Sally have found their forever homes.

Visit the RSPCA at 54 Industrial Rd, Unanderra, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it! Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 3:30 pm. Closed Mondays and public holidays. Call 4271 3410.
