Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter
Dog of the week: Sally
Meet Sally, a spirited black Labrador eagerly looking for her new forever family!
Only a year old, Sally loves to socialise, figure out fun enrichment puzzles, and sniff around and explore wide open spaces like gardens or parks. She particularly enjoys scent-based activities, as they help work her brain muscles and let her indulge her curious nature.
Sally would thrive in a home where she can be involved in a family dynamic, involved in both fun indoor activities as well as outdoor walks and adventures.
Although she loves to stay close to you, and is content to spend her evenings snuggled up to her family members, Sally’s new home will need secure fencing to keep her from wandering.
If you have children that are confident around dogs, Sally might be the perfect dog for you, though she’d be the first to admit that she can get a little jumpy when she’s excited.
She’s eager to meet other dogs and humans, and learn all about the world; Sally would benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training to help her be the best dog she can be!
Though training takes time, practice, patience, encouragement, and attention, all Sally is asking for is love – and maybe one or two yummy treats!
Sally understands that sometimes her family has to go out. If left with some toys, treats, her water, and a sheltered, snuggly bed, she is happy to relax and rest until they return.
Sally gets along well with other friendly dogs. If you have another dog at home, a meet-and-greet would be ideal to ensure they will be the best of friends.
Cat of the Week: Daley
Introducing Daley, a shy black cat with a dream of finding a home.
Daley may not be the life of the party, but he has a heart full of love to share.
Though only two years old, Daley would prefer a quiet, peaceful home with a guardian who understands him.
Daley may take a while to warm up to his new family, but once he does, he is sure to bring you joy with a lifetime of purrs and head bumps.
Given his shy demeanour, Daley would prefer to be the only baby in the home – he is looking for a child and pet-free home to help him begin to overcome his fears.
Daley is a brave boy and needs someone who can make him feel safe, so his sweet nature gets the chance to emerge.
For those looking for a quiet, sweeter cat, Daley might just be your perfect match!
Last week’s pets, Patsy, Jessie and Bubbles are still waiting for their forever homes.
