Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter
Dog of the week: Shadow
Shadow is a one-year-old, male, kelpie cross German shepherd pup who can’t wait to meet you!
Shadow is a strikingly handsome pup with a sleek black coat and ears you can definitely spot in a crowd. He is an intelligent and active boy with a heart of gold.
Kelpies and German shepherds are working dogs that thrive on physical activity and mental stimulation. Shadow embodies these traits, making him an excellent companion for an active owner who can meet his needs.
Shadow is quick to learn new commands and is eager to work on his tricks with his new owner. Shadow’s breeds are known for their loyalty and trainability, and he can’t wait to show this off and work with his new owners to be the cleverest boy ever!
Shadow loves his daily exercise and is excited by activities that challenge his mind and body.
As he can get a bit bouncy when he’s excited, any children in the home will need to be over 12 years of age and confident around dogs. His new home will also need to have secure fencing, to help keep him safely at home.
This sweet boy gets along well with other dogs of a similar, playful nature, so if you have another dog at home, please bring them in to see if they will be friends.
Shadow is looking for a loving home with someone who understands the needs of active dogs and can provide the time and energy he requires. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and energetic companion, come and meet Shadow!
Cat of the week: Cherry
Meet Cherry!
Cherry is a one-year-old, female, charcoal tabby cat on the lookout for her forever home!
With gorgeous golden eyes and a unique tabby pattern, Cherry is sure to catch your eye as one of the most magical looking cats around.
It’s more than just the eye of the tiger Cherry possesses; she has a striped coat and resilient spirit to suit!
Though she can be a bit of a wallflower to begin with, once she gets to know you, Cherry is all purrs and headbutts.
She loves a good chin scratch and enjoys quiet moments with her favourite humans.
Cherry is a sweet and friendly girl but because she can be shy, she needs a peaceful home without young children.
A home with a safe space Cherry can adjust into and gentle, patient owners would suit her perfectly.
She is an active and playful cat who just wants to feel comfortable in her surroundings so she can let loose!
Cherry promises to be a cuddle companion, a constant confidante, and a source of comfort for her new family. She would also make the purrr-fect familiar for anyone with magical inclinations.
While she may need some time to come out of her shell, she is well worth the wait!
If you’re looking to adopt the perfect Cherry on top, come and meet her at the Illawarra Shelter.
