Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for their forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter.
Dog of the week: Zephyr
Meet Zephyr!
Nine-year-old Zephyr is a thoughtful and loyal Cavalier King Charles spaniel-pug cross.
He’s the kind of dog who forms strong bonds over time, especially with people who give him the space to initiate interactions himself.
As a very well toilet-trained dog who enjoys a consistent daily routine, Zephyr hopes his forever family can welcome him into a calm home with indoor-outdoor access.
Zephyr does best when life is predictable and routines are consistent. He is a dog who values stability and clear expectations and responds well to gentle guidance.
He would prefer to be an only pet, soaking up life’s quiet moments with a family who loves him.
In return he can offer his adopters something truly special: unwavering companionship, a genuine connection, and the reward of earning an animal’s trust.

Cat of the week: Rose
Meet Rose!
Rose is an eight-year-old domestic short haired cat with plenty of love to give.
Although she is a cool, composed feline at first meeting, her affectionate, playful side comes to life once you finally earn her trust.
Rose adores human company and won’t be shy about being someone’s perfect little lap cat.
Loud noises can startle her sometimes, so she would be best suited to a quieter home with no young children.
A small and secure bedroom or bathroom would be an ideal place to set her up in initially, as she may find access to the entire house a little overwhelming at first.
Once she settles in her playful and affectionate nature will shine.
Rose loves nothing more than a lazy day perched by the window watching the world go by, and would prefer to be an indoors-only cat.
If you’ve always wanted a cat who wants to nurture a loving bond with you, Rose might just be the feline friend you’ve always dreamed of.
March is National Pet Adoption Month.
For every cat or dog adopted from an RSPCA shelter throughout March, Royal Canin will contribute $100 to that shelter, meaning more animals can receive the love and care they deserve.
In addition, Royal Canin will send new adopters home with a free bag of pet food if they find their perfect match at the RSPCA this month.
Previously featured RSPCA Cat of the Week Lukey has found his forever home, while dog Sadie is still on the hunt for hers.
