A second man has been charged in relation to a Fairy Meadow cold case, NSW Police say.
In 2020, police were called to a store on Cabbage Tree Lane after reports of an armed robbery at about 6:50 pm on Tuesday 7 September.
“Officers attached to Wollongong Police District responded and were told three males entered the store, when one allegedly stabbed the male store attendant in the thigh before stealing cash and cigarettes,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“Two other store attendants were allegedly held by the other two males but were not physically injured.
“The three left the store, last seen heading south onto Vereker Street, Fairy Meadow.”
Last month, a 23-year-old man was arrested at Wollongong Police Station and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon cause wounding.
“Following further inquiries, about 9:50 am on Friday 11 July 2025, a 22-year-old man was arrested at Wollongong Police Station,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“He was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon causing wounding or grievous bodily harm.”
The man was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Saturday (12 July), where he was formally refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday 23 July.
Inquiries are continuing.
