UPDATE 4:55 pm: A man has died following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Macquarie Pass.
The rider was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
4:00 pm: A serious motorcycle crash on Macquarie Pass has closed the road in both directions, with emergency services attending the scene.
Authorities were called to the incident around 2:30 pm this afternoon following reports of a single-vehicle accident on the stretch near Clover Hill Road.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the route and allow extra time for travel, with light vehicles redirected to Jamberoo Mountain Road and heavy vehicles told to use the Hume Highway.
