A section of the M1 Princes Motorway as well as Picton Road will be closed to all traffic for six nights over the next fortnight.

The closures – for routine maintenance and ongoing work on the Mt Ousley Interchange – were scheduled for earlier this month but were postponed due to wet weather.

Starting this Sunday (22 March), the motorway between Bulli Tops and Memorial Drive will be closed from 8 pm to 4 am. Picton Road will be closed in both directions between the motorway and Almond Street at Wilton from 7:30 pm to 4 am.

The roads will then be closed during the same times on Monday 23 and Wednesday 25 March, then 29 and 30 March and 1 April (weather permitting).

Work will include vegetation maintenance, installing and removing signage, barriers and guardrail, relocating and installing utilities and installing temporary street lighting and drainage.

Construction activities on the interchange project will include removing part of the existing median island, noise wall removal, installing temporary and permanent road kerbing, paving and linemarking and delivery of oversized equipment.
