Teenager dies in Corrimal crash

A driver has died after a single-vehicle crash in Corrimal on Saturday.

Just after 8:10 pm on Saturday (26 October), emergency services were called to Rothery Street, Corrimal, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

A NSW Police spokesperson said that on arrival, officers attached to Wollongong Police District found a red Mitsubishi hatchback had crashed into a parked vehicle.

“Despite the effort of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the driver, an 18-year-old man, died at the scene,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“There were no other injuries reported due to this incident.

“A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced.”

The vehicle was seized to be forensically examined and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
