NSW Police have confirmed a person has died after being struck by a train on the South Coast Line today (24 March), shortly after 2 pm.
Buses will replace trains until police investigations into how the incident occurred conclude.
“No trains are running between Thirroul and Unanderra or between Thirroul and Port Kembla on the South Coast Line, due to an incident requiring emergency services at Wollongong,” a Transport for NSW Spokesperson said.
“Replacement buses have been requested but are not yet on site.
“Passengers are advised to consider alternative transport or allow plenty of extra travel time.
“Passengers should also listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates.”
