A 52-year-old truck driver has been charged over a multi-vehicle crash on Mt Ousley, which resulted in a car rolling over.

Emergency services responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash along Mt Ousley Road, Mt Ousley about 11:40 am on 15 August, after a truck travelling south bound crashed into a Mercedes sedan.

The car, driven by a 20-year-old man, then rolled when it collided with a cement truck driven by a 32-year-old man.

A Mazda sedan driven by a 19-year-old woman was also involved in the collision.

The truck continued travelling until it came to a stop on a raised gradient on University Avenue about 1.5 km from the initial crash site.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the Mercedes driver at the scene for minor injuries, with no other injuries reported.

Police seized the truck for mechanical inspection and will allege the truck was overweight with building material and the brakes were faulty.

On Wednesday (3 September) the truck driver was served with a future court attendance notice after being charged with using a heavy vehicle with defective brakes, driving a heavy vehicle not complying with the mass requirement, and negligent driving.

He will appear at Wollongong Local Court on 14 October.
