UPDATED: Truck driver dies in Appin Road crash

UPDATED 5:10 PM: Appin Road is now open to all traffic.

A man has died after two trucks collided on Appin Road at Bulli Tops today (19 November).

NSW Police were called to the area about 10:50 am.

Police say a male driver of one of the trucks died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 50s.

The other male truck driver was not injured and was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries into the crash are continuing.

According to Live Traffic, Appin Road is closed in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Eastbound vehicles can divert via Narellan Road, Hume Motorway, Picton Road, M1 Princes Motorway and Princes Highway.

Westbound vehicles can travel via Princes Highway, M1 Princes Motorway, Picton Road, Hume Motorway, Narellan Road and Appin Road.
