Two people have been charged following a police pursuit in the Flinders area on Wednesday.

A NSW Police spokesperson said that at about 8:30 am on Wednesday (31 July), officers attached to Lake Illawarra Traffic and Highway Patrol attempted to stop an allegedly stolen vehicle, on Shellharbour Road, Flinders.

“When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated. However, it was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns,” the spokesperson said.

“At about 8:55 am, police located the vehicle abandoned in an underground car park on Cowper Street, Warrawong, where it was seized for forensic examination.

“The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a car park on Centre Road, Mascot, on Thursday (25 July).

“Following extensive inquiries, at about 3 pm on Friday (2 August), officers attached to the Southern Operation Support Group attended a business on Northcliffe Drive, Kembla Grange, and arrested a 30-year-old man and 20-year-old woman.”
