Police have charged two people with more than 30 drug offences as part of an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Lake Illawarra.
Strike Force Alamillio was established in October, with investigations leading to a man and a woman being arrested after Lake Illawarra Police District officers stopped a vehicle in Church Street at Albion Park about 10:15 am on Thursday (2o November).
“A 34-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.
“Police seized 8.6 grams of cocaine, 6.4 grams of psilocybin, drug packaging and $4650 in cash.”
The 29-year-old woman was charged with 27 offences, including 19 counts of supplying a prohibited drug and five counts of supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis.
She was initially refused bail and was expected to appear in court on Friday (21 November).
“The 34-year-old man was charged with take part supply prohibited drug less than or equal to small quantity, supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to a small quantity, two counts of participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000, supply prohibited drug greater than small and less than or equal to indictable quantity and supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity,” the spokesperson said.
The man was granted conditional bail and will appear in Port Kembla Local Court on 10 December.
