A teenager has been charged with multiple offences following a number of alleged break and enters across the Illawarra.

There has been a recent increase in break and enter offences in Kiama and Bombo, a NSW Police spokesperson alleged, and in February 2026, Lake Illawarra Police District Anti-theft Unit began to investigate.

As a result of those investigations, at about 10 am on Tuesday 3 March officers attended a home in Warilla.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

“Police will allege in court the teenager was involved in a number of break and enters at homes between February and March 2026 where a number of items were stolen including e-bikes and e-bike chargers,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

The boy was refused bail and appeared in a children’s court on Tuesday 3 March where he was formally refused bail to reappear in the same court on Tuesday 10 March.
