Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while in care with Wollongong Pet Connection.

Dog of the week: Darla

Meet Darla!

Darla is a three-year-old staffie-cattle dog cross.

Smart, playful, and affectionate, with staffie strength and cattle dog smarts, she’s the ultimate companion for an active family who loves outdoor adventures and interactive play.

Darla is responsive to commands and eager to learn. She loves spending time with her people, and is leash and toilet trained.

Darla is dog selective, and can be reactive if other dogs are too boisterous. She would do best in a home with no other animals, as she has not been socialised with cats or pocket pets.

Darla is looking for an active family who understand dog behaviour and can provide structure and enrichment.

Darla is ready to bring joy, loyalty, and plenty of fun to her new family. If you’re looking for a smart, loving dog who will thrive in an active lifestyle, Darla is your girl!

Laid-back Elena loves snoozes and snuggles - and she'll make sure to let you know how happy she is with her loud purrs.

Cat of the week: Elena

Meet Elena!

This one-year-old blue and cream tortoisehell girl is a purr machine and snuggle afficionado.

Elena is affectionate, gentle, and perfectly house trained — the ideal mix of loving and independent.

Elena adores attention and snuggles, but she’s also happy to relax nearby when you’re busy.

She’ll happily nap in her cat tree while you work, and shows her happiness with big, happy purrs every time you give her love.

Elena would suit almost any loving household as long as she gets plenty of affection and cozy spots to relax.

She’s low-maintenance but loves companionship, making her perfect for someone who wants a sweet, calm cat to share their life with.

If you’re looking for an easy-going, affectionate cat who will be your loyal companion, Elena is your girl.

To arrange a meet-up with Darla or Elena, fill out the apply to adopt form on the Wollongong City Council website. A council officer will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new furry friend at a convenient location to you. Darla and Elena come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm checked and lifetime registered.

Previous Wollongong Pet Connection Pets of the Week Whitney and Tibby are still looking for their furever homes.
