Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while in care with Wollongong Pet Connection.
Dog of the week: Jeff
Meet Jeff!
Jeff is a two-year-old staffy-mastiff cross. Soft, sensitive and gentle, Jeff is full of quiet love.
He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention, but his whole face lights up when you show him kindness.
Jeff has been in care for quite some time now and despite his beautiful nature, he’s been overlooked again and again.
Carers say he is a truly special boy who just needs someone patient and gentle, someone who will see the sweetness in his shy soul.
He may be a little unsure when he meets new people, but once he warms up, Jeff becomes the most affectionate companion, leaning into you, rubbing his head against you and curling into your lap like he’s been waiting his whole life for that moment.
Jeff’s favourite things are cuddles, being a lap dog and meeting new dogs – he loves to make new friends.
He has had crate training and settles with reassurance. He is slowly learning basic commands, including sit.
If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will love you with his whole heart, Jeff is waiting.

Luna’s great loves in life are food and attention – not necessarily in that order. Photo: Wollongong City Council.
Cat of the week: Luna
Meet Luna!
Luna is a five-year-old domestic short hair cat.
Her foster carers say on top of being beautiful and affectionate, Luna has settled wonderfully into her new life.
She’s been eating well, using her litter box perfectly and even let her foster carers trim her front nails.
She absolutely loves pats, cuddles and attention and will happily seek you out when she wants affection.
Luna is social with people but a little nervous around other cats, so she would do best as a solo queen or in a home that can introduce her to furry family members slowly and gently.
She’s energetic, playful and full of personality, especially when she’s hungry or seeking love!
Her best quirk? She makes a cute little frog‑like croak when she wants food or attention. It’s adorable.
She is perfect for anyone looking for an affectionate, cuddly and talkative companion who will brighten every day with her little croaks and big loving heart.
To arrange a meet-up with Jeff or Luna, fill out the apply to adopt form on the Wollongong City Council website. A council officer will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new furry friend at a convenient location to you. Jeff and Luna come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm checked and lifetime registered.
