Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while in care with Wollongong Pet Connection.

Dog of the week: Trix

Meet Trix!

This two-year-old American Staffy is a true ray of sunshine.

Loving and affectionate, Trix is always ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a big smile.

Trix thrives on human companionship and will happily shower her people with endless love and loyalty.

Although she can be timid and shy in new situations, once she warms up to you, she will absolutely steal your heart.

Trix loves to play – tug-of-war, fetch, and anything involving treats are her absolute favourites.

Her love for treats makes her very easy to train, and she’s eager to learn new things.

She’s a smart girl who enjoys having fun and bonding with her humans through play and training.

While Trix is amazing with people, she does have one special requirement: she needs to be the only pet in the household.

Trix is reactive towards other dogs; though she does have a couple of dog friends, she is very selective about who she spends time with.

She’s looking for a home where she can be the centre of attention and feel safe and supported.

Cat of the week: Inky

Meet Inky!

This five-year-old domestic short-haired cat is a sweet, shy boy who has truly blossomed in foster care.

Once reserved, he’s now thriving and showing his affectionate side every day.

Inky loves sitting on his foster carer’s lap while they work at the computer or read a book.

In the evenings, he happily joins the family on the couch for TV time.

He’s also a big fan of being brushed and petted — his purrs say it all!

Inky is toilet trained and is best suited to a calm, cat-only household.

If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will reward your patience with endless love and cuddles, Inky is the purrfect match.

He’s ready to bring warmth and comfort to a quiet home where he can be the centre of attention.

To arrange a meet-up with Trix or Inky, fill out the apply to adopt form on the Wollongong City Council website. A council officer will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new furry friend at a convenient location to you. Trix and Inky come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm checked and lifetime registered.

Previous Wollongong Pet Connection Pet of the Week Pixie has found her furever home, but Tibby is still on the prowl.
