Cat of the week: Vera
Vera is a sweet, gentle little lady who has come ahead leaps and bounds from the timid cat she once was.
With patience, kindness and time, the two-year-old has learned that the world and people can be safe and even enjoyable.
Thanks to the loving work of her foster carers, Vera has thrived.
Through gentle socialisation and positive experiences, she has built trust and confidence and now enjoys being part of daily household life.
She is social with her foster sister and the two can often be found hanging out together, sharing space and enjoying each other’s company.

Cat of the week: Luna
Luna is a beautiful, affectionate girl who has settled in wonderfully.
She absolutely loves pats, cuddles and attention and she’ll happily seek you out when she wants affection.
Luna is social with people but a little nervous around other cats, so she would do best as a solo queen or in a home that can introduce her slowly and gently.
She’s energetic, playful, and full of personality, especially when she’s hungry or seeking cuddles.
And her best quirk? She makes a cute little frog‑like croak when she wants food or attention. It’s adorable.
To arrange a meet-up with Vera or Luna, fill out the apply to adopt form on the Wollongong City Council website. A council officer will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new furry friend at a convenient location to you. Vera and Luna come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm checked and lifetime registered.
