A teenage boy will appear in court today (30 January) charged with murder as investigations continue into the death of a man in Shellharbour this week.
Emergency services were called to Saturn Crescent, Dunmore, about 3 pm on Tuesday 28 January, where a 25-year-old man was found critically injured.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for a stab wound to his abdomen; however, he died at the scene.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an investigation under Strike Force Feods, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
A NSW Police spokesperson said initial investigations revealed the man was allegedly stabbed while being assaulted by a number of people who fled in an Isuzu MU-X.
“The vehicle was later recovered in Albion Park Rail and seized for forensic examination,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“Following inquiries, a 35-year-old woman has been charged and remains before the courts.
“About 3 pm on Wednesday 29 January detectives arrested a 15-year-old boy at a home in Horsley.
“He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with murder and possessing an unauthorised pistol in relation to the seizure of a gel blaster firearm.”
The teen was refused bail to appear at Children’s Court today.
