Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to get my hair cut and coloured?

The cost depends on many factors. This includes the type of hair you have, the style you're after and the services you need. With colouring, for example, adding foils will increase the price. Check to see if your salon offers a free consultation session. Also ask for a detailed quote so you’re not caught by surprise.

How do I determine what hairstyle is best for my face shape?

Hairdressers at quality hair salons are trained to help you determine the best look. They’ll consider factors like the shape of your face, texture of your hair, your personality and your lifestyle.

Which colour will work best?

Choosing colour is an art in and of itself. A quality colourist will talk you through options based on your eye colour and skin tone. They’ll also discuss the latest seasonal colours.

What happens if I’m not happy with my hair cut and colour?

Check the hair salon’s policy before making an appointment to find out what happens if you’re not happy with the end result. If the salon didn’t do what they agreed to, you can push for a full refund or ask if the salon will fix your hair for free.

How long do hairdressers train before cutting hair?

Traditionally a hairdresser's apprentice, also known as a junior hairdresser, will study one day a week at a tertiary institution and work in a salon for the rest of the week, for two to three years to become fully qualified. Cuts completed by a junior hairdresser will usually be supervised by a senior hairdresser and come at a discounted rate.

Anaston Hair and Beauty in Warilla are absolutely amazing. From the moment you step into the salon you feel welcomed and like an old friend. The service is great and they do wonders with hair. They take the time to find out what you’re after, and explain how to style and use the right products. I cannot fault the girls at all.
