On Wednesday 10 January, a vehicle was damaged by fire at Collector, about 35 kilometres southeast of Goulburn.

Following inquiries and a CCTV appeal, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District arrested a 29-year-old man at Albion Park Police Station, at about 11 am on Wednesday 17 January.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with damaging property by fire/explosion, knowingly making a false/misleading statement, and not complying with a P1/P2 high performance vehicle restriction.

He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Thursday 18 January.

NSW Police said they would allege in court that the man was also responsible for the vehicle set alight at Collector.
