NSW Police have charged a man over an alleged assault at a Unanderra hotel that put another man in hospital.
A NSW Police spokesperson said a 33-year-old man would face court on Tuesday, 16 April, charged over a serious assault in the Illawarra.
“About 10:50 pm on Friday 12 April 2024 emergency services responded to reports of an assault at a hotel on Central Road, Unanderra, approximately 6 km south-west of Wollongong,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 59-year-old man at the scene.
“He was taken to Wollongong Hospital where he is currently in a critical but stable condition.
“A crime scene was established, with officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commencing an investigation into the incident.
“Following inquiries, about 4:30 pm Monday 15 April, a 33-year-old man was arrested after attending Lake Illawarra Police Station.”
Police charged the man with causing grievous bodily harm to another person with intent, and affray.
He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today.
