Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter
Dog of the week: Zelda
Zelda is a stunning three-year-old black-and-white staffy cross with an enchanting personality and a heart full of love!
Though she may not cast spells, she certainly has a magical charm that makes her an unforgettable companion.
Zelda is on a quest to find a loving home that understands her needs and appreciates her sweet, spirited nature.
Zelda is full of energy and excitement, and needs someone who can help her manage that energy.
She thrives in a calm, structured environment and is best suited for a home with older children, preferably 15 or older, who understand when she needs space.
While she enjoys social walks with other dogs, she can be selective about her friends and would do best in a home without other resident pets.
This sweet girl loves having the freedom to choose between lounging indoors or embarking on outdoor adventures.
Zelda enjoys playtime, especially when it involves running around and stretching her legs.
Her clever mind craves mental stimulation, so she’s always eager to learn new tricks and engage in activities that challenge her.
If you are looking for an active best friend who also enjoys downtime, Zelda is your girl!
Zelda’s most enchanting quality is her loving and loyal nature. She’s a smart girl who communicates clearly through her body language when she’s excited or in need of some me-time.
With the right guidance, she’ll be the most lovable and loyal companion you could ever ask for!
Zelda is living in a foster home, ready to share her magical spirit with her forever family.
Cat of the week: Sally
Meet Sally!
Sally is a beautiful three-year-old calico girl looking for a loving home of her own.
Sally loves nothing more than curling up on a cozy lap and purring the day away.
Like most rescue cats, she can be a little shy at first, however once she knows she can trust you her true nature shines through.
Calico cats like Sally are truly one-of-a-kind, known not only for their striking, multicoloured coats but also for their unique personalities.
Calico cats often make for incredibly loyal companions as they are affectionate and easy-going by nature.
The coolest fact ever? Calico cats are almost exclusively female! This is due to the orange-and-black coloured genes being tied to the female chromosome.
Sally would thrive in a home with children over six years of age who are confident around cats and an owner who understands feline behaviour.
She would be good with children, however she may, like most cats, need some space and patience while she adjusts to her new home.
As she found herself at the shelter as a stray, it’s best that Sally lives out the rest of her days as a pampered indoor cat.
She would enjoy harnessed walks or some yard time in a ‘catio’; it’s best she isn’t left to wander as her sense of direction may lead her to becoming lost again.
This will also ensure she’ll live a longer and happier life.
Adopting Sally means welcoming a life full of soft meows and gentle headbutts, with a companion who will greet you every day with sweetness and love.
Last week’s pets, Fletch and Chicken, are still on the hunt for their forever homes.
