You know it’s time to pull out the Christmas tree and decorations when Santa himself arrives in town.

The jolly old man in red will arrive at Wollongong’s Crown Central on Sunday (12 November), winding his way up Crown Street Mall on a trike so his trusty reindeer prepare for their upcoming world-wide flight.

His arrival will include a Christmas show, band, market stalls, games and giveaways, along with Santa’s friends and traditional Christmas characters.

Festivities kick off in the Mall from 10:30 am with a special Rudolph Christmas Show, DJ Brizz and roving performances by Circus Monoxide. The market stalls will run from 10 am to 2 pm.

Santa will make his way through Wollongong Central, stopping to say hello at the customer service desk on level one of the Crown building about 11:30 am, then outside Coles in the Keira building at about 12 pm.

Then he’ll be at his Christmas home away from home outside David Jones on level one of the Gateway building, getting ready for visits from good Wollongong girls and boys.

From Monday (13 November), Santa’s helpers will be on hand to take photos, including special sensitive sessions and pet sessions throughout November and December.
