A man has died in a single-vehicle crash in Dapto on Tuesday (11 March).
A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the intersection of Robert and Joan streets in Dapto at about 5 pm following reports of a crash.
“Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended and found a vehicle had crashed into a house,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“The driver – a man believed to be aged in his 60s – was trapped in his vehicle; however, he died at the scene.
“He is yet to be formally identified.
“The residents of the home were evacuated due to a gas leak as a result of the crash. The leak has since been cleared.
“There were no other reports of injuries.”
A crime scene has been established and investigations have commenced into the circumstances of the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
