UPDATED: Nine-year-old missing from Albion Park Rail found

UPDATE 9 March 9am: NSW Police say Mason has been found safe and well.

Have you seen nine-year-old Mason Simpson?

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the boy after he went missing from the Lake Illawarra region.

He was last seen in Albion Park Rail on Thursday 29 February 2024 and is believed to be in the company of his father, Leon.

It is believed they might be in the Goulburn area and may be driving in a black Ford SUV with NSW registration CA-51-CB.

After failing to attend school for a number of days, and when he could not be located, or contacted, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were notified on Tuesday 5 March 2024 and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Mason is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 140 cm to 145 cm tall, of medium build, with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes.

It is not known what he may be wearing.

He may be travelling in a black Ford SUV with NSW registration CA5 1CB driven by a 39-year-old man known to Mason.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare due to his young age.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Lake Illawarra Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
