Police are appealing for public assistance following an Albion Park house fire last month.

Crews from Fire & Rescue NSW extinguished the fire, but the house was extensively damaged. No-one was home at the time.

Lake Illawarra Police formed Strike Force Cuber to investigate the fire, and have released an image of a man who may be able to help with their inquiries.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his early to mid-40s, of medium build and was carrying a walking stick. He was wearing a dark hooded jumper and shorts.

Police would also like to speak to the driver of a vehicle, described as a maroon Toyota Camry sedan, which was observed leaving the home shortly before the incident.

Anyone who may know the man or the vehicle should contact Oak Flats Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
